The Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, met many distinguished Bollywood celebrities in New Delhi on Thursday, 10 January 2019. Many big names in the Indian film industry, like Ranveer Singh, Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Karan Johar, Varun Dhawan, Rohit Shetty, and so on, landed in Delhi on the date mentioned to meet the Prime Minister. The meeting took place weeks after President Modi met some bollywood producers and discussed issues faced by the industry. This meeting was later followed by reducing the GST rates on film tickets by the government.
Karan Johar tweeted a picture of them all along with the PM, adding in the caption of “how he was thankful for the meeting”. And for him, the meeting has helped all the Bollywood celebrities to “come together and ignite a positive change in the country by being representatives of the world’s largest film industry”. The delegation, which was a mix of actors and producers, was organized by Karan Johar himself. However, the sources did not reveal the agenda of the meeting.
