INDIA – Regional elections : Yogi will again form his government in Uttar Pradesh

After winning this time too, Yogi Adityanath is going to form the government again in Uttar Pradesh. Besides, their votes have also increased. However, Akhilesh Yadav’s Samajwadi Party has emerged as a strong opposition to the Yogi government. Despite raising hopes, the Samajwadi Party has been disappointed in the end.

However, the Aam Aadmi Party, a Delhi-based regional party, has made a splash in Punjab. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is on its way to forming a government with a huge majority.

Experts believe that the victory of the Yogi government is due to the BJP’s special tactics with the backward voters in Uttar Pradesh. At the moment, the BJP’s victory in Uttar Pradesh has boosted the confidence of the Gerua camp in the wake of the Lok Sabha elections.

In this year’s Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, the BJP campaigned on development as well as law and order issues. Apart from Yogi Adityanath, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah also targeted the Samajwadi Party for ‘Gundaraj’ and law and order during their election campaigns in Uttar Pradesh. This time their strategy proved to be successful.

The Samajwadi Party, in alliance with the state Lok Dal and other smaller parties, contested the elections. However, the results of the vote clearly show that this strategy did not work for the SP.

According to Uttar Pradesh’s vote counting trend, the BJP is far ahead on the brink of a huge majority. The BJP is going to get more than 42 percent votes this time. The Samajwadi Party obtained only ten per cent of the vote.

In the 2016 elections, the Samajwadi Party contested in alliance with the Congress. Although it did not work. On the contrary, they lost 46 seats in three important constituencies. The results of the 2022 elections make it clear that the BJP has strengthened its position over the last election.

In the last 36 years, Yogi is the first person to hold the post of Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh after five years in office. Yogi is the first BJP chief minister in Uttar Pradesh. He is the third to successfully complete the five-year quota. He is preceded by Akhilesh Yadav of SP and Mayawati of Bahujan Samaj Party.
