Amid ‘Gadar 2’ success, Sunny Deol credits his son Karan Deol’s wife Drisha Acharya for bringing all the fortune and luck to the family.
Sunny Deol, the Bollywood actor-turned-politician, has made a triumphant return to the big screen with ‘Gadar 2’. The film was released in theatres on August 11 and grossed Rs 40 crore on its first day. The film made a historic Rs 55.40 crores on the Independence Day holiday.
Sunny resumed his iconic role as Tara Singh in Gadar 2, while Ameesha Patel returned as Sakeena. The film, produced by Zee Studios, also stars Ukarsh Sharma as Charanjeet. Tara Singh’s journey to Pakistan in 1971 to rescue his son, Charanjeet Singh, from the Pakistani Army is shown in Gadar 2.
Gadar 2 is the sequel to Anil Sharma’s previous film, Gadar: Ek Prem Katha that is a romantic-action drama set against the backdrop of India’s partition.
Fans across the country have been hailing Gadar 2. Hundreds of villagers in Rajasthan’s Bhilwara district arrived at a movie theatre, riding on their tractors, to watch the film. Before arriving at the theatre, the villagers had taken out a tractor rally from the main marketplace of Bhilwara.
Villagers even placed posters of Gadar 2 on their tractors and they also chanted “Bharat Mata Ki Jai (Long live Mother India)”. Narayan Lal Bhadala, a resident of Agarpura in Bhilwara district, said the movie, was already a rage across the country and was well on course to being a blockbuster like its previous avatar.
The hand pump scene which was used in Gadar: Ek Prem Katha was performed once again in the sequel. Sunny stated that at first he was hesitant to do the same scene that he has already done but he is glad that the hand pump scene turned out to be the most celebrated one in Gadar 2.
