The UK is still reeling from the effects of Storm Bert, which swept through the country over the weekend, leaving hundreds of flood warnings and alerts in its wake. In Wales, 10 areas have been placed under boil water notices, raising concerns about water safety.

Tragically, at least four deaths have been reported in England and Wales since the storm hit, though it is unclear if all are directly linked to Storm Bert. In North Wales, a body was found during the search for missing dog walker Brian Perry. In Lancashire, an elderly man in his 80s died after his car entered a body of water. On the A34 near Winchester, a man in his 60s lost his life when a tree fell on his vehicle, while in Northamptonshire, a man in his 40s was found dead in East Haddon, with police describing the incident as an “unexplained death.”

Emergency services continue to manage the fallout, with flood defenses and recovery efforts underway. Residents are urged to stay alert and adhere to safety advice as the nation works to recover from the storm’s impact.
