Almost four tennis courts’ worth of space, measuring an incredible 1,004.7 m² (10,814.5 ft²), was created at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Lagos.
The world’s largest drawing by a single person was created by 31-year-old Nigerian artist and doctor Fola David-Tolaram. Almost four tennis courts’ worth of space, measuring an incredible 1,004.7 m² (10,814.5 ft²), was created at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Lagos.
The artwork is a comprehensive map of Nigeria that honours its multi-cultural past and is titled The Unity of Diversity.
“I wanted to make something that gives people a way to celebrate their cultures and speaks to Nigeria’s rich diversity,” Fola said.
The artist has travelled throughout Nigeria, where he has witnessed the distinctive customs of the nation firsthand which thus served as the inspiration for his imposing artwork.
