2017 has not been very good for Anushka Sharma’s career. Her films Phillauri and Jab Harry Met Sejal couldn’t garner good response and tanked at the box office. It seems that Anushka is in soup again, this time it’s concerning her new venture. Recently, Anushka launched her new clothing line ‘Nush’ but she is being accused of copying several designs for her brand. Some of the designs displayed at the launch are inspired by many Chinese online shops.
160 designs of her Autumn/Winter Collection for 2017 were launched recently and the designs were the exact copies of apparels available at online marketplaces like Wish, TaoBao and Aliexpress and Chinese wholesale websites.
Buying Chinese goods and selling them cheap in India is not a new practice but if Anushka hasn’t bought the designs, she might land in big copyright infringement trouble as the designs are a ditto copy. However, ‘The Highway’ actress didn’t even mention the issue and said that she was completely involved in choosing the designs, colors, and fabrics for NUSH.
It is a new trend for celebs to launch their own fashion brands. Earlier, Hrithik Roshan, Kriti Sanon, Deepika Padukone, Malaika Arora, Sonam Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor launched their own clothing brands. These brands have a star value attached to them and are popular among the youth .
Anushka’s boyfriend Virat Kohli also owns the popular clothing brand ‘WROGN’. On the work front, Anushka is shooting for the horror film ‘Pari’ and the untitled ‘Sanjay Dutt Biopic’. Both are slated to be released in 2018.
