Kangana Ranaut will soon be seen portraying the life of ‘Rani Lakshmibai’ in her upcoming movie titled Manikarnika – The Queen of Jhansi.
Rani Lakshmibai, popularly known as ‘Jhansi ki Rani’, (The Queen of Jhansi) was one of the leading Indian warriors, a freedom fighter, who fought for the Independence of India in the rebellion of 1857, India’s very first struggle for Independence. Rani Lakshmibai was born in a Maratha family as Manikarnika. That is the reason why the movie is named as ‘Manikarnika – The Queen of Jhansi’. After marriage she was named as Lakshmibai, in the honor of goddess Lakshmi.
Recently, a concept sketch was released, wherein Kangana Ranaut wears a ‘Nath’ a traditional Maharashtrian jewelry worn by women, along with a turban worn on her head, and earrings, trying to replicate the looks of Rani Lakshmibai. Kangana is also practicing horse riding, sword fighting, especially for portraying the life of Jhansi Ki Rani.
From the moment this sketch was released on social media, it went viral and everybody seems to be praising Kangana for her traditional look as Jhansi Ki Rani. The movie is directed by Radha Krishna Jagarlamudi. Vijendra Prasad who was the screenplay writer for Baahubali, is the writer for this movie. The shooting for the film has not yet begun. It is expected to start by the first week of June 2017.
Lastly Kangana Ranaut was seen in the movie Rangoon but the film was not hit at the box office. We hope that she amazes the audience in Manikarnika – The Queen of Jhansi.
